Peppers and pears illegally imported into country destroyed at refuse dump near Penza

Penza, 4 October 2017. PenzaNews. A batch of peppers from Ukraine weighing over 41 kg and more than 55 kg of pears without marking, which had previously been confiscated at the market "Oktyabrsky" in Penza, were destroyed mechanically at a refuse dump near the village Chemodanovka.

As it was reported by the public relations officer of the Rosselkhoznadzor department in Mordovia and the Penza region Larisa Yakushkina, the fact of trade in the quarantined products had been established during an unscheduled inspection conducted on September 27.
"The owners failed to provide the documents that would prove the legality of import of the goods to the country and their legal availability in its territory as well as phytosanitary security of the products," the interlocutor explained.
She added that administrative cases had been opened against the two persons involved in the realization of the products that had been prohibited from importing into the territory of the Russian Federation.
