Penza, 18 October 2017. PenzaNews. Celebration in honour of the Sverdlovsky bridge opening after reconstruction will be held in Penza in less than three weeks – on Monday, November 6. This was reported by the vice mayor Yuri Ilyin.

"By this time we must finish installation of road signs, draw traffic lane markings as well as come to agreement about the schedule of the city transport," he said at the meeting that was held in the Penza administration on Wednesday, October 18.
As it was reported by the mayor's office press service, after that all required technical procedures will be held. For this reason, traffic will be allowed on the bridge starting the next day – Tuesday, November 7.
The Sverdlovsky bridge was closed for reconstruction at the end of September 2016.
Within the large-scale project implementation, the carriageway was expanded to four lanes, the bridge abutments were reinforced, the bridge span structures were changed, and two sidewalks were built.
It was planned that the works would be finished in December 2017.
