Penza, 23 October 2017. PenzaNews. The birth rate in the Penza region fell by 12.7% during nine months of the year 2017 compared to the same period of the previous year. This was reported by the head of the Penza Statistics Service Maxim Ukhanov.

He specified that in 2017 during this time 1,334 babies less had been born than a year ago.
"Over January-September 2017 compared to January-September 2016 the number of deaths decreased by 409 cases or 2.8%," Maxim Ukhanov added at the operational meeting in the regional government on Monday, October 23.
