"In recent years, activity of demonstrations, parades and rallies has increased. [...] The question arises: does it happen accidentally? No," he noted at the 6th Youth Legal Forum "Fight the extremism!" in Penza State University on Friday, November 3.

Alexander Gulyakov specified that this was facilitated by political forces both inside and outside the country.

"Usually these are young people who resort to drastic actions," the rector added.

He explained that this was due to a little life experience, which made it easy to manage young people.

According to Alexander Gulyakov, this is being used in particular by the opposition activist Alexei Navalny, who plans to participate in the presidential elections in 2018.

"Most of the population looks at his attempts with laughter while the youth believes him," he said.

According to the PSU rector, under such circumstances there was little use to rely only on the law but it would be more useful to educate young people.

"If a person is literate and educated, they will find a way to solve any conflict by means of a dialogue," Alexander Gulyakov noted.
