Unknown Soldier Day celebrated in Penza
Penza, 3 December 2017. PenzaNews. A solemn rally devoted to the Unknown Soldier Day was held near the Military and Labour Valour monument in Prospekt Pobedy street on Sunday, December 3.

Representatives of the executive bodies of the state authority of the Penza region, deputies, members of veterans and youth organizations as well as not indifferent citizens came to pay tribute to Russian and Soviet soldiers who died in combat in Russia or outside the country.
Poems about unknown soldiers that were recited at the beginning of the event reminded the people about the history of the commemorative date.
After a minute of silence, the hymn of Russia was played. This was followed by laying wreaths to the monument by participants of the rally including the Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev.
Vladimir Kerkhanadzhev, veteran of the Battle for Stalingrad and the Battle of Kursk, chairman of the city council of veterans, honorary citizen of Penza, was among those who laid flowers to the Eternal Flame.
The event was finished by arm volleys.
