Penza, 21 December 2017. PenzaNews. The youth movement Green Wave, which had been developing in the Penza region since 2014, brought together uncoordinated environmental initiatives. Such an opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Russian Geographical Society branch Igor Pantyushov.

"The main goal of the movement is to continue uniting these initiatives and to bring them to a new interregional level," he noted during the regional meeting of Green Wave activists held in the Penza Literature Museum on Wednesday, December 20.

Igor Pantyushov said that in 2018 the movement will develop under the motto "Green Wave – for the green province!"

"We have also planned to create an environmental public chamber next year, which will become a permanent platform for discussion and implementation of public environmental initiatives, so we propose to actively continue the work that we have started together for the good of our region, for the good of Russia, for the good of life on earth," he said.

As it was reported by the press service of the Russian Geographical Society, at that moment the movement Green Wave united 3,000 people. In 2017, the activists carried out over 70 environmental activities including ecological raids, campaigns, community work days, open lessons and festivals.
