Penza, 4 January 2018. PenzaNews. Workers of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels and the Department for Security at Water Bodies of the regional EMERCOM department of Russia revealed that many fishermen went onto thin ice of the Stremyannoi stream in Penza.

As the press service of the main department of the Penza regional EMERCOM in Russia told PenzaNews, preventive talks about rules of first aid to those who fell through the ice were conducted with the fans of fishing.

"Due to the fact that the weather has remained warm for a long time, the ice is still not strong enough, only 12-15 cm. There are gullies at water bodies with currents. It is extremely dangerous for life to walk on them," the department explained.

EMERCOM noted that there were no fishermen at the pond near city hospital No.6 during the inspection.

"There were no incidents registered on the water bodies of Penza. 30 patrols and inspections were conducted in the first days of the new year. [...] Until the end of the holidays they will be held in all areas of the Penza region," the department added.
