Penza, 10 January 2018. PenzaNews. Resident of the Saratov region Egish Eroyan must pay 65,000 roubles to the 15-year-old school pupil bitten by lioness Maya belonging to him, who after the incident was transported to the Penza zoo.

As the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Saratov region told PenzaNews, earlier teenager's father turned to the owner of the animal with a claim demanding to compensate for the moral damage and expenses incurred.

"The court established that the owner had not taken necessary measures to prevent the conduct of the animal that endangered life and health of citizens," the supervisory office said.

The press service added that the Engels district court decided to recover 65,000 roubles from the owner in favour of the child. The defendant appealed the decision but the regional court left it unchanged.
