Altogether 725 applications for capture of 4,200 stray animals were received by the organization in 2017. 1,043 animals were captured, 173 of them were released in the habitant after sterilization or castration.

The actual costs for these purposes amounted to nearly 975,000 roubles.

A year before, 728 animals had been captured for 960,000 roubles.

According to the mayor's office, the capture of stray animals is carried out early in the morning in the absence of minors with the use of devices and materials that prevent injuries, then the animals are transported to the shelter located near the refuse dump for solid domestic waste at 5 Osennyaya street.

The municipal unitary enterprise on city cleaning catches as many animals as the shelter can accommodate.

It has 10 individual boxes in a quarantine room and 9 compartments for temporary keeping, each of which can accommodate no more than two animals.

Quarantine measures are taken during 10 days, then the animals are put in a separate compartment, after which their sterilization or castration is carried out. After 20 days from the date of their transfer to the compartment they are released at the place where they were captured or given to good hands.

The personnel of the enterprise include 10 people – a manager, a vet, three guards and a catching team.

Every 10 days the shelter is visited by a dog expert for consultation.
