Penza, 9 February 2018. PenzaNews. The arrears of wages in the amount of 267 million roubles were paid out in the Penza region in 2017 after the interference of prosecutors. This was reported by the regional prosecutor Natalia Kantserova.

"82 million roubles were repaid to suppliers of public utilities. The rights of persons with disabilities to medical assistance and accessible environment, normal living conditions in in-patient institutions were restored," she said at the extended meeting of the board of the prosecutor's office of the Penza region on Friday, February 9.

Natalia Kantserova added that employees of the supervisory body adopted a set of additional measures aimed at fighting drug addiction, extremism and terrorism, paid due attention to the improvement of regional anti-corruption legislation.

"As a result of 2017, the well-coordinated work of law enforcement bodies, government authorities, local self-government and other subjects of prevention gave some positive results," the prosecutor of the Penza region noted.

According to her, about 25,000 violations of the law on a pre-trial stage of criminal proceeding were suppressed.

"Almost 1,500 workers of investigation and inquiry bodies were held disciplinary liable," Natalia Kantserova specified.

She also drew attention to the fact that a serious attention had been paid to the issues of interdepartmental cooperation and coordination of the activities of law enforcement and supervisory bodies.

"I think this is the approach that allowed us to achieve a real improvement in the condition of legality in many areas. At the same time, we cannot ignore negative factors in the region. Both prosecutors and the authorities should devote their efforts the solving these issues," the head of the regional supervisory body said.
