Penza, 13 February 2018. PenzaNews. Victor Khomets, coordinator of Left Front, expressed a protest against activities of the deputy chairman of the Penza region government Vasily Trokhin, who has been in charge of domestic policy since the end of 2015.

On the morning of Tuesday February 13 he took part in a one-person protest near the building of the executive body holding the flag of the movement with the inscription "Vasily Trokhin is a shame of Penza government".

The campaign attracted attention of both the officials who went to work and journalists on their way to the meeting on interaction of trading networks with Penza producers featuring Ivan Belozertsev . The majority of mass media representatives did not ask about the goal of the protest and simply passed by.

As it was reported by the press secretary of the regional Left Front department Sergei Padalkin, it was the unwillingness of the authorities to endorse public events at different city venues that made the opposition organize the campaign.

"Over the last several months we have submitted several dozens of notifications about protests and rallies to both city and regional administration. None of them was endorsed. Not a single one," the agency's interlocutor explained.

He reminded that several years ago the activists could hold events in Marshala Zhukova square, near the regional board of honour, the Pervoposelenets monument and in other crowded placed and now they are always sent to the F. Dzerzhinsky public garden.

Sergei Padalkin assumed that personally the deputy chairman of the Penza region government Vasily Trokhin is responsible for this.

"He thinks that it is better to prohibit everything, to allow nothing," the opposition activist said.

In addition, he reported that Left Front plans to hold a protest in Nizhny Novgorod, where the office of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District is located, because according to the activist in the Penza region the power is not easy to get in touch with.

Answering the question about how effective, in his view, such one-person protests are, Sergei Padalkin explained that they allow not only making the opinion clear to the recipient but also attracting attention of colleagues, subordinates and the governing body.

The protest against Vasily Trokhin lasted one hour sharp. Unlike other campaigns, in particular the one held near the regional government on January 30, the protest did not attract the attention of the police.
