Penza, 14 February 2018. PenzaNews. Public prosecution bodies of the Penza region revealed serious violations of the requirements of the federal legislation in activity of the police. This was reported by the senior assistant of the head of the regional prosecutor for media relations Svetlana Artamonova.

"In 2017 in the course of integrated inspection the regional prosecutor's office revealed 102 cases of holding persons administratively liable unreasonably for offences in the sphere of illicit turnover of narcotic drugs," the interlocutor said.

She explained that 37 of the cases were connected with drivers who operated vehicles in a state of intoxication.

"In 18 cases of holding persons administratively liable for offences in the sphere of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues employees of internal affairs bodies did not find out how the drugs had been acquired," Svetlana Artamonova added.

According to her, numerous violations of law in the activities of operational units while identifying and suppressing drug-related crimes were also revealed.

She specified that to date nine officers of the internal affairs bodies were brought to a disciplinary responsibility.
