Specialists of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) of the Khabarovsk Krai and Jewish Autonomous Region detained a container with lioness named Kira, who had been delivered from Penza without veterinary accompanying documents, in the airport.

"The live cargo has been detained until the provision of the documents," the department told PenzaNews.

Rosselkhoznadzor noted that administrative proceeding had been opened on the fact.

"The animal had a chip but there was no information about vaccination as well as whether she is a carrier of diseases," the department said.

It explained that the young predator, which had been born on October 15, 2017, was transported to a private owner to the town of Zeya of the Amur region.
