Penza authorities powerless against trucks abandoned at roadsides

Penza, 25 March 2018. PenzaNews. There are no noticeable shifts in solving the issue of trucks abandoned at the roadside, which prevent services from removing snow in winter, and carrying out repairs in summer.

One of the vivid examples is the situation in Glazunova street.
Exactly three weeks ago, on March 4, the press service of the Penza administration spread the information that during city inspection mayor Victor Kuvaytsev assessed the situation at the site.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that a Volvo truck heaped up with snow prevents specialized equipment from working and ordered EMERCOM department head Alexei Mikhailov to find out the identity of the owner and to convince them to move the vehicle to a parking lot.
However, the situation did not change – about a week later the car was still in the same place. Special equipment had to clean only the middle of the road which resulted in the roadway being narrower by almost half.
On March 10, Victor Kuvaytsev gave an instruction to examine roads for unauthorised parking of heavy vehicles.
The inspection was carried out by vice mayor Yuri Ilyin, head of the Communal Services Department Andrei Grishin, EMERCOM department head Alexei Mikhailov, acting director of the city Department of Communal Services Valery Yatsko, head of the municipal unitary enterprise Penzadormost Yury Parastaev and traffic police officers.
They made sure that the issue of trucks left at roadsides had not been solved in Prospekt Stroiteley and Prospekt Pobedy streets. The officials contacted owners of the vehicles by phone and recommended moving them to designated places.

In addition, according to the mayor's office press service it was decided to install special road signs prohibiting parking in Ternopolskaya and Glazunova streets. However, a specific time-frame was not set.
Two weeks later the promises road signs did not appear in Glazunova street.
Meanwhile, the warming that came to Penza brings closer the moment when the snow that was not removed by communal services in winter will simply melt.
It is not excluded that after that the heavy truck will leave the place of long-term parking.
