Penza, 9 April 2018. PenzaNews. An amphitheatre and approaches to water are planned to be built in 2018 within the framework of Sura embankment reconstruction in Penza. This was reported by mayor Victor Kuvaytsev.

According to him, 100 million roubles for reconstruction works were built into the budget.

"This amount should be enough to build an amphitheatre and approaches to water, to equip the site with lanterns that will illuminate the area from the top and below," he informed governor Ivan Belozertsev during the site visit on Monday, April 9.

In turn, the region head suggested seeking additional 100 million roubles to start work in the promenade area at the same time.

The governor also drew attention to the fact that when the project of the reconstruction had been shown to him by officials the colour of the coating was white and grey, while in reality it turned out to be only grey.

Architects explained that white lines would highlight the roughness of the retaining wall and would look unaesthetic so it was decided to give up the idea.

Commenting on the fact that concrete mesh sank on the slope vice mayor Magomed Agamagomedov reported that it had been placed there as a temporary solution for the period of winter.

According to him in the future turf will be laid under the mesh, which will protect against washout of sand and formation of gaps.
