Visitors cannot get inside any longer: the doors are sealed, the entrances are guarded by representatives of the Federal Bailiff Service.
The reason for this was the results of unscheduled inspection of observance of fire safety regulations conducted by prosecutors and the EMERCOM.
As it was reported by official representative of the regional department of the Russian Federal Bailiff Service Yana Zagrebelnaya, the activity of the shopping centre Olimp was suspended by the Oktyabrsky district court of Penza as an interim measure. By doing so, the corresponding request of the prosecutor was granted.
"The use of the shopping centre is prohibited until the court's decision [on the claim for suspension of activity of the shopping centre Olimp in connection with revealed violations] has entered into effect," the interlocutor explained.
As it was reported before, unscheduled inspection of compliance with fire safety legislation was organized in all shopping malls and entertainment centres at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation in connection with the tragedy in the Kemerovo shopping mall Winter Cherry, where 64 people had died in a fire.
Over 2,800 facilities with mass stay of people are to be inspected in the Penza region during three months.
In Penza, as a result of the activities the prosecutor's office demanded that the use of the buildings of the cinema complex Sovremennik, shopping centres Uritsky, Moi, Triumph, Gostiny Dvor as well as the Kuznetsk shopping centre M-City should be prohibited.
