Penza, 17 May 2018. PenzaNews. 18 HIV-infected women gave birth as a result of pregnancy in the Penza region in the first quarter of 2018. This was reported by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor).

"18 living children were born. 16 pairs 'mother-child' underwent a three-stage chemoprophylaxis," the department specified.

The press service added that in the postpartum period, the chemoprophylaxis had been provided to all 18 infants.
