"Each city district will be represented. We hope that each column will have a landmark, an outstanding feature of its own," he noted at the press conference held in the mayor's office on Wednesday, June 6.
Victor Kuvaytsev added that this year for the first time the procession will be opened by a parade of motor vehicles from a private collection.
According to him, the exhibited retro models will then be displayed at the parking near the building of the Penza administration.
As it was reported by the press service of the city hall, the procession will also feature representatives of national and cultural autonomies and students from 47 countries.
Official events on the occasion of Russia Day and City Day will start in Penza on 12 June at 9.00 at the embankment of the Sura river where a capsule with a letter to descendants is planned to be laid.
It is expected that the letter will be read after 45 years – in 2063 when Penza residents will be celebrating 400th anniversary of the city foundation.
