Penza, 12 June 2018. PenzaNews. The second festival Penza Sweets was held in the territory of the public garden Box of Proverbs in the framework of the celebration of Day of Russia and the 355th anniversary of the city on Tuesday, June 12.

Stalls with pastries, fruit-paste sweets, halvah, ice cream, honey, nuts and other tasty treats and drinks – lemonade and kvas – were placed in the alley. Many producers organized tasting of their products and presentation of new goods. On the eve of the Football World Cup some of them prepared sweets in the form of balls.

The festival featured a rich entertainment programme for young participants. Children's attention was drawn by a colourful chemical show. Animators held contests and the young Penza residents who participated in them received sweet prizes provided by participants of the fair.

The exhibition was visited by Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev. He got acquainted with the range of products and talked to representatives of the companies.

Commenting on the results of the event, manager of the cluster the Union of Penza Confectioners Oksana Yesina noted that the festival had united more enterprises than a year before, in particular Vanyushkiny Sladosti, Russki Konditer, Penza chocolate factory, Miroslada, Rusproduct, Ageevsky, BosaNova, Diad, Unitron, Slavia, Kholod and Visit.

"This year the companies have approached the organization of exhibition activities actively and thoughtfully. [...] Next year it will be even more interesting, we will attract more companies," she said.

Organisers of the festival are the regional government, the Penza city hall and LLC Cluster Development Centre.
