Media: Avian influenza virus detected in minced turkey meat of Idilight

Penza, 25 June 2018. PenzaNews. The avian influenza type A was detected in samples of Indilight turkey minced meat produced by LLC PenzaMolInvest (a member of Damate Group) in Bashkiria, where the products were delivered from the Penza region. This was reported by Interfax with reference to an informed source.

According to the mass media, the virus was detected in the products sold in shops of Budzyaksky and Tatyshlinsky areas, Ishimbay, Belebey and Sibay.

Previously, the regional veterinary department informed about the first results of the inspection conducted after receiving information about outbreaks of the highly pathogenic avian influenza type A subtype H5 in the territory of the Penza region at the production sites of LLC PenzaMolInvest and JC Vasilyevskaya Poultry Factory (a member of Cherkozovo Group).

The department said that the samples contained genetic material of the virus but did not specify what product exactly it was.

According to the Bashkiria veterinary administration, at the moment all identified products in retail chains are sealed and insulated.
