According to him, the vast majority of accidents occurred in places not equipped for swimming.
In this regard, governor Ivan Belozertsev urged to check each reservoir of the Penza region.
He reminded that leaseholders and owners should equip swimming areas and organize duty of lifeguards, whereas the police and police helpers should patrol the beaches to prevent intoxicated people from getting in water and carry out explanatory work with children.
The head of the region noted also that comfortable conditions for tourists are created not in all official rest areas.
"Beaches should be leased for a long term and specification requirements should be clearly stated: there should be a lifeguard post and changing stalls, cleaning should be done. The situation will change only after the heads of municipalities organize control," the press service of the Penza region government quotes Ivan Belozertsev.
