Penza, 17 July 2018. PenzaNews. Penza resident Maria Prudentova celebrated her 105th anniversary on Tuesday, July 17.

She was congratulated by mayor Victor Kuvaytsev, head of the administration of the Pervomaisky area of the city Lidia Belyakova ad workers of the social protection sphere.

The head of the administration wished the long-lived woman good health, warmth, comfort and family well-being, and then handed a congratulatory letter from President of Russia Vladimir Putin, flowers and gifts.

During his visit Victor Kuvaytsev got acquainted with woman's creative works. Maria Prudentova told him that she had enjoyed drawing all her life but her first painting had been done at the age of 75.

Maria Nikolaevna Prudentova was born on July 17, 1913, in the Kamensky area of the Penza region in the family of a priest.

In 1934 she moved to the Leningrad region.

In 1935 she got married. The woman worked as a primary school teacher and a teacher of drawing.

In 1941 she was captured and sent to Germany by train, but later was liberated by Soviet soldiers.

From 1941 to 1959 she lived in Latvia ad worked at school.

In 1960 she moved to the Nizhnelomovsky area and continued teaching.

Since 1971 she has lived in Penza.

She raised four children. She has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
