Penza, 20 July 2018. PenzaNews. Work on cleaning the bottom of the Sura river in the centre of Penza from the rubbish that was exposed after the drop in water level will be organized on Saturday, July 21. This was reported by vice mayor Yuri Ilyin.

"In connection with the repair of the dam [...] the water near the waterfront has receded from the coast to 3-4 meters. An ugly picture of the state of the Sura river bottom became visible," he noted at the meeting held on Friday, July 20.

As reported by the press service of the Penza administration, Yury Ilyin ordered the heads of the EMERCOM department, communal services department, municipal unitary enterprises Zelenoe Khozyaystvo Goroda Penzy, and Penzadormost to provide workers who would be involved in the work with waterproof suits and shoes as well as to prepare equipment for removal of collected rubbish.
