Now a brown fence impedes passing from the side of Sovetskaya street.
In fact, it is the second structure that separates the cathedral from the roadway as there is another fence – a blue one – straight around it.
The erection of a fence near the M. Lermontov public garden, where a celebration of the regional holiday Spas is going to be held on Sunday, August 19, is still in process.
When the work is completed, the park will be surrounded with a double fence, too. The territory, where free access will be impossible due to this, will have lawns with trees and footpaths.
At the moment it is possible to approach Sobornaya square, which until recently was called Sovetskaya square, from the side of the diocesan administration. Branches, fallen leaves and stumps still remind of the healthy trees cut down at the end of the last working week.
There is only one way to reach Sovetskaya square for people who get there from Moskovskaya street – along the rotunda, which was suggested to be used when conducting underground excursions a year ago.
No signs containing information about the purpose of the installation of the fence around Sobornaya square have been installed so far.
