Penza, 8 September 2018. PenzaNews. An ice maker that allows producing ice in small scales was installed in the enclosure of the polar bear in the Penza zoo so that the predator could cool down during the heat. This was stated in a message spread by the press service of the institution.

"Since there was a need in a lot of ice, a powerful but low noise model was developed because polar bears in some zoos were afraid of loud running generators. The equipment had to be delivered from Italy. The machine is able to produce 1.7 tons of ice per day," the text explains.
It is added that the equipment successfully passed testing while the animal was still at premises.
The message specifies that the ice maker was purchased at the expense of the company Rosneft, under the tutelage of which the polar bear is.
