Head of the Penza administration Victor Kuvaytsev demanded that traffic lights should be adjusted in a way that a so-called "green wave", when drivers can freely pass a maximum number of controlled pedestrian crossings and intersections maintaining a certain speed, should be established.

"By installing traffic lights in the framework of the project Safe and Quality Roads the number of places of concentration of road accidents decreased. It the future, it is necessary to strive to create intelligent transportation systems that will allow to change phases of traffic light equipment in the morning and the evening depending on how busy the roads are," he noted at the meeting held in the city administration on Tuesday, September 25.

According to the press service of the City Hall, Victor Kuvaytsev instructed subordinates to take certain measure until the end of October to launch the green wave, including measures to enlist cooperation of law enforcement authorities.
