Victor Khomets arrested for 10 days after protest near Penza department of Ministry of Internal Affairs

Penza, 28 September 2018. PenzaNews. Regional coordinator of the movement Left Front Victor Khoments, who on September 20 held a one-person protest in front of the Penza regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with a demand to exclude ex-officer of the Federal Security Service, founder of an Internet medium Alexander Tuzov from the public council under the police, was arrested for 10 days.

The materials of the administrative case against him under Part 8, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of the established procedure of organizing or holding meetings, rallies, demonstrations, marches or picketing" were considered by chairman of the Leninsky district court of Penza Svetlana Shubina in the evening on Thursday, 27 September.
Before that, they had been twice returned to the police for revision.
According to the press service of the regional department of Left Front, Victor Khomets denied his guilt in committing an offence but was ready for such a punishment and came to the court with a bag with personal belongings.
The sentence will be reduced by the period of administrative detention, when he spent a day in police custody. Taking this into account, Victor Khomets will be released from the detention centre in the village of Lesnoi at 10.40 on October 6.
