Memorial plaque to Pavel Kazachenkov killed in Syria opened in Penza

Penza, 5 October 2018. PenzaNews. A memorial plaque to captain of the armed forces of Russia Pavel Kazachenkov, who had been killed in the line of duty in Syria, was opened on the building of Penza cadet school No. 46, where he had studied.

Relatives of the soldier, his colleagues, officials and cadets visited the ceremony held on Friday, October 5.
The right to open the plaque, which had been created by honoured artist of Russia Valery Kuznetsov, was given to governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev and mother of the holder of an Order of Courage Natalia Kazachenkova.
Turning to those present, the head of the region noted that Pavel Kazachenkov is an example to follow.
"I am extremely grateful to you, Natalia Mikhailovna, to the mother who raised such a worthy son, a patriot of our country. Our task today is to remember his heroic deed," Ivan Belozertsev said.
In turn, chairman of the Council of the Federation Committee for Federative Structure, Regional Politics, Local Self-Government and Affairs of the North of the Penza region Oleg Melnichenko added that Pavel Kazachenkov had given his life for the interests of Russia and in the name of Syrian people.
"The memory of Pavel will always live in our hearts," he said.
After this a minute of silence was announced.
