Security measures will be strengthened in the Penza region in connection with the tragedy in Kerch, where according to the latest data 19 people were killed in an incident in Engineering College. This was reported by governor Ivan Belozertsev, who called the incident a terrorist attack, although the investigation qualified the incident as a mass murder.

"A terrible disaster occurred in Kerch. I sympathize with the families of all the victims of the terrorist attack, the causes and consequences of which are still to be realized, because the first reaction is a shock," the head of the region wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, October 17.

"In connection with the tragedy in Kerch, we will strengthen preventive measures against terrorism. Security will be tightened up in every city, district, settlement," Ivan Belozertsev added.
