"He turned to the carrier at the pre-trial process demanding return of money for the tickets but the demand was not satisfied. Then the man went to court. He asked to recover from the defendant the cost of the tickets, the penalty for the failure to satisfy the demands voluntarily – 22,000 roubles, compensation for moral injury – 5,000 roubles and a fine of half the amount conferred by the court in favour of the consumer," an official representative of the Zheleznodorozhny district court of Penza told PenzaNews.
According to him, in the course of the proceedings the client withdrew the demand for compensation of booking costs due to the fact that Saratov Airlines returned the money voluntarily.
"The court partially satisfied the claimant's demands and exacted a penalty of 22,000 roubles, compensation of moral harm of 1,000 roubles and a fine of 11,500 roubles from the airline. The decision was not appealed and entered into legal force," the interlocutor said.
