34 kg of substandard bakery and confectionery products seized in Penza region

Penza, 24 October 2018. PenzaNews. 34 kg of low-quality bakery and confectionery products were withdrawn from the market in the Penza region from January to September 2018. This was reported by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor).

"618 samples underwent physico-chemical examination, 45 – radiological one, seven samples were tested for GMO, 163 – for microbiological indicators," the department explained.
The press-service specified that discrepancy on microbiological indicators had been revealed in one case, on physico-chemical ones – in two cases.
"All samples complied with sanitary and chemical parameters, none contained salts of heavy metals and mycotoxins. The presence of GMO and radioactive substances in the samples of bakery products was not detected," the Department said.
