A public medal "For courage in rescue" of the Russian Union of Rescuers was conferred to Vladislav Krasovsky, a pupil of school No. 1 of workers settlement Mokshan. His supervising teacher Svetlana Shcheglova was invited to the ceremony together with him. The young man was awarded for the help provided during a flood. He had helped people out of flooded houses and assisted in evacuation to a safe area on boats.

Two more children already have medals of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia "For Courage in the Fire". During the event they were awarded with letters of gratitude of the Russian Union of Rescuers.

In particular, one of them was Nikita Karnashenko, a high school student of Stepanovka village of the Bessonovsky area. He came to the ceremony with his mother Olga Karnashenko. In January 2018 the teenager had called the rescuers on seeing fire across the street and saved an elderly neighbour without waiting for rescuers' arrival. His brother Vitaly Karnashenko had turned off the gas meanwhile and informed other services about the incident.

A letter of gratitude was also conferred to Nikita Kopylov, a pupil of school No. 2 of Serdobsk. In winter the boy had rescued two younger sisters and a brother from a private house. His grandmother Antonina Kopylova was invited on stage together with him.

In addition to the well-deserved awards, governor Ivan Belozertsev and head of the Penza region main department of EMERCOM Sergei Kozlov also presented orange rescuer berets and watches to the children-heroes.
