Penza, 6 November 2018. PenzaNews. 129 kg of pears seized at the territory of the wholesale and retail base in Penza were destroyed mechanically at a refuse dump for domestic solid waste near the village Chemodanovka of the Penza region. This was reported by public relations officer of the Rosselkhoznadzor department in Mordovia and the Penza region Larisa Yakushkina.

She explained that the product that had no labels and markings had been discovered during unscheduled inspection held at the request of the Penza Prosecutor's Office for Transportation on November 2.

"The owner of the products failed to provide documents that would prove the legality of fruit import to the Russian Federation, its legal availability as well as documents proving phytosanitary security of the product," the interlocutor explained.

Larisa Yakushina added that administrative cases under the Art. 10.3 of the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation "Violating the Rules of Production, Procurement, Transportation, Storage, Processing, Use and Sale of Products Subject to Quarantine (of Materials and Cargo Subject to Quarantine)" was opened against the individual entrepreneurs who traded in the pears.
