Penza, 10 December 2018. PenzaNews. Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev urged to name new streets of settlements in honour of distinguished people.

"It is necessary that streets are named after heroes – if not at the place where they lived, then in the city. We have such an opportunity," he said at the action meeting in the regional government on Monday, December 10.

The head of the region criticized such names as Solnechnaya, Yablochnaya, Pomidornaya, Grushevaya, Apelsinovaya.

"Someone gets sad and begins to push," Ivan Belozertsev said.

It is much better, in his opinion, to name streets in honour of Heroes of Russia or Heroes of Socialist Work.
