They started in the Chapel of Michael the Archangel at Prospekt Pobedy Street, where a memorial service took place.

After that, the authorities and the public paid tribute to the fallen defenders of the Fatherland at the monument of Military and Labour Glory of Penza residents.

A soldier's pot with two fragments, belonging to Alexei Voronkov, who died in battle in March 1945, was handed over to the relatives of the Red Army soldier in a solemn atmosphere in the framework of the event.

The pot had been found earlier by search groups from Kaliningrad.
