15 cases of rabies registered in Penza region since beginning of year

Penza, 3 April 2019. PenzaNews. Fifteen cases of rabies in animals were registered in the Penza region in the first three months of 2019. This was reported by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor).

The department specified that in 11 cases, which is more than 73% of the total, the disease was diagnosed in cats.

"Altogether, the disease was revealed in 10 municipalities of the region," Rospotrebnadzor explained adding that three of the cases of rabies had been revealed in Penza.
