Penza region occupies 74th position in demographic rating of Russia

Penza, 24 April 2019. PenzaNews. The Penza region occupied the 74th position in the rating of Russian regions on population dynamics, compiled by RIA Rating for 2016-2018.

According to the presented data, the population of the Penza region for the last three years decreased by 2.27% to 1,318,100 people as of January 1, 2019.
Furthermore, the natural population decline for 2016-2018 exceeded 20,000 people, the migration decline – 10,000 people.
As can be concluded from the rating, over the past three years the population has decreased in 60 regions, and increased only in 25 regions.
The best result was shown by Sevastopol, where the population growth was 6.46%, the worst was observed in the Jewish Autonomous Region, where the population decreased by 3.72%.
