"I had a walk with my colleagues along Lenina square and the promenade. The day was good and there were a lot of people strolling about. But it is sad that someone had the heart to damage the newly installed benches," Victor Kuvaytsev wrote on his Facebook profile.
He urged residents to instil a careful attitude to the work of others in children from an early age.
"This is our city, and it depends on us how clean and well-kept it will be," Victor Kuvaytsev stressed.
One of the photos posted by the mayor shows a bench with inscriptions made with a black marker pen.
