The formation of the column began in the morning in Kommunisticheskaya Street near the Pionersky public garden. Residents began to gather long before the start of the campaign holding portraits of their loved ones who had contributed to the Great Victory.

Veterans in an UAZ open car headed the procession. They were followed by members of the Army of Youth with a 200-metre-long replica of the Victory Banner.

After the end of a prayer in the Church of the Archangel Michael, the action was joined by representatives of the authorities, including Governor Ivan Belozertsev and mayor of Penza Victor Kuvaytsev.

The participants started the movement from Kommunisticheskaya Street, proceeded along the Monument of Military and Labour Glory of Penza Residents and continued along Prospekt Pobedy Street. Having turned at the shop Vasilek, the column headed to the memorial. Throughout the route, the participants were accompanied by poems and songs on military themes.

Unlike last year, what was happening was live broadcast on two large screens near the monument: one of the screens faced Lenina Street, and the other – Karpinskogo Street. This made it possible to observe what was happening to those who had not joined the procession.

When the head of the column approached the monument, the young soldiers carrying the banner separated from it. They moved it to the monument, which was the transition to a theatrical prologue and a subsequent rally.
