Vladimir Putin names Penza airport after Vissarion Belinsky
Penza, 31 May 2019. PenzaNews. President of Russia Vladimir Putin decided to name Penza airport after Vissarion Belinsky, literary critic, writer, publicist and philosopher. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state on Friday, May 31.

Altogether, the document assigned names to 44 airports of Russia including the name of poet Mikhail Lermontov, whose name was contested for by Penza, to the terminal of Mineralnye Vody.
In addition, the international airport Sheremetyevo was named after Alexander Pushkin, Domodedovo – after Mikhail Lomonosov, Vnukovo – after Andrei Tupolev.
The decree entered into force on the day of its signing.
