Record number of people gets infected with haemorrhagic fever in Penza region

Penza, 26 June 2019. PenzaNews. 80 residents of the Penza region were infected with epidemic haemorrhagic fever, which is also known as mouse fever, in May 2019. This was stated in a message spread by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor) on Wednesday, June 26.

According to the agency, this was a record figure for that time.
In just five months of 2019, 161 cases of haemorrhagic fever were reported. The rate equalled to 12.2 per 100,000 population.
Cases of epidemic haemorrhagic fever were registered in the Belinsky, Bessonovsky, Vadinsky, Gorodishchensky, Kolyshleyski, Lopatinsky, Mokshansky, Narovchatsky, Nikolsky, Pachelmsky, Penzensky, Serdobsky and Shemysheysky areas and also in Kuznetsk and Penza.
