Penza, 2 July 2019. PenzaNews. Fraudsters posing as inspectors of the State Fire Safety Authority became more active in the Penza region. This was stated in a message posted on the website of the main regional department of the EMERCOM of Russia.

It explains that the attackers ask to open the door to the apartment allegedly to verify compliance with fire safety requirements, and also offer to purchase various devices, such as fire detectors.

"In this regard, the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work under the EMERCOM of Russia in the Penza region explains that employees of the State Fire Safety Authority do not provide paid services to the population and organizations," the text emphasizes.

The report draws attention to the fact that during preventive measures, inspectors only instruct citizens on security measures against signature on a special form and hand out memos. In addition, they all wear a uniform of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, carry a badge and an official ID.

"Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have no right to enter an apartment without permission of owners," the text specifies.
