Half ton of substandard meat withdrawn from sale over six months in Penza region

Penza, 17 July 2019. PenzaNews. 194 lots of meat and poultry products with a total weight of 504 kg that did not meet the requirements were removed from sale in the Penza region in the period from January to June 2019. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor).

According to the institution, in half a year over 1,300 samples of meat and poultry products were studied in the framework of monitoring quality and safety of products. 5% of them showed unsatisfactory results when it cфme to physical and chemical or microbiological indicators.
Samples that did not meet the requirements for the content of pollutants of chemical nature, the content of antibiotics and GMOs were not revealed during laboratory inspection.
Resolutions on imposition of administrative sanctions were issued for all violations.
Information on cases of sale of low-quality products was included in a module of the public information resource on consumer rights protection, and was sent to the office of Rospotrebnadzor at the location of the manufacturer of products for action.
