Conference dedicated to 200th anniversary of Antarctica's opening to be held in Penza

Penza, 24 February 2020. PenzaNews. The scientific and practical conference “Antarctica: Past, Present and Future...” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of the sixth continent by Russian sailors will be held in the Penza Literary Museum on Friday, February 28.

Within its framework members of the Russian Geographical Society, scientists, writers and journalists will talk about contribution of researchers to the study of polar territories, discuss issues of modern local history and popularization of historical knowledge.
As expected, chief editor of the Literary Newspaper Maxim Zamshev and chairman of the Russian Literary Society Alexander Chistyakov will be the guests of honour at the conference, the press service of the Penza regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society reports.
