In Penza region orphans illegally required to pay fee for obtaining passport

Penza, 18 September 2020. PenzaNews. Employees of the migration office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Zemetchinsky area of Penza region illegally demanded that orphans and children without parental care pay the full state duty for the issuance of a passport. This was stated in a message spread by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office on Friday, September 18.

“In the three years preceding the inspection, the prosecutor's office identified eight such cases,” the text says.
It adds that there is a lack of cooperation between the migration authority and the district guardianship authorities.
“Based on the results of inspection, the area prosecutor filed a complaint to the head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Zemetchinsky area. The act of prosecutorial response is under consideration,” the message explains.
