Penza, 12 December 2020. PenzaNews. Governor of Penza region Ivan Belozertsev said he had no intention to tighten the restrictions introduced due to coronavirus during the New Year holidays.

“As far as the period before New Year and immediately after it is concerned, I am not inclined to introduce tougher restrictions], if the situation allows it,” he said, answering the relevant question during a phone-in session on Saturday, December 12.

At the same time, Ivan Belozertsev drew attention to the fact that if there is a significant increase in the incidence, then “there will be no other way”.

“If we comply with all the requirements, as we do today, [...] I am sure most likely, such measures will not be needed. We'll see what the situation is like after New Year's Day,” the governor noted.
