Number of marriages in Penza region in 2020 decreases by 17%, that of divorces – by 5.8%

Penza, 14 February 2021. PenzaNews. The number of marriages registered in Penza region in 2020 decreased by 17% compared to 2019; the number of divorces decreased by 5.8%. This was evidenced by data of Rosstat.

In 2020, 5 986 marriages were concluded in the region, which is 1 225 less compared to 2019, when there were 7 211 couples who formalized their relationships.

The number of divorces fell by 302, from 5 242 in 2019 to 4 940 in 2020.

In previous years, the following trends were observed: in 2014 there were 9 915 marriages and 6 489 divorces registered in Penza region, in 2015 – 9 441 and 5 388 respectively, in 2016 – 7 663 and 5 185, in 2017 – 8 153 and 5 284, in 2018 – 6 919 and 5 073.
