Penza, 24 May 2021. PenzaNews. The site for the stele in honour of Penza being named City of Labour Valour should be chosen taking into account the opinion of the residents. The corresponding order was given by acting governor of Penza region Oleg Melnichenko.

“I don’t want it to be behind the scenes. I want us to discuss it with the people of Penza so that they decide where the stele should be erected,” he said, addressing mayor Andrei Luzgin at an operative meeting in the regional government on Monday, May 24.

Oleg Melnichenko recalls that the stele should bear the coat of arms of Penza and the decree of the Russian president granting the city the title of honour.

According to Andrei Luzgin, sketches, estimates and possible locations for the stele will be prepared within two weeks.
