Penza, 2 November 2021. PenzaNews. 56 counterfeit banknotes were detected in Penza region in the third quarter of 2021, which is half as many as in the same period in 2020. This was stated in a message PenzaNews received from the press service of the Volga-Vyatka main department of the Bank of Russia in Penza region.

“Most of the counterfeit banknotes discovered – 39 pieces – were with a nominal value of 5 000 roubles. Besides that, nine counterfeit banknotes of 1 000 roubles and eight of 2 000 roubles were withdrawn from circulation,” the text specifies.

It notes that no counterfeit foreign banknotes were found in Penza region in the third quarter of this year.
