Penza employee of traffic police became the prize-winner of the world games of policemen and firemen

Penza, 8 September 2011. PenzaNews. The inspector of special battalion of traffic police of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region Alexander Gruzinov took the 3rd place in 10 km race on the 14th world games of policemen and firemen which took place in New York (USA) from August, 26th till September, 5th, 2011. The employee of the State traffic inspectorate told about his impressions about competitions and trip during the meeting with journalists which was held in the press center of news agency "PenzaNews" on Thursday, on September, 8th.

Alexander Gruzinov said: "It was the largest games in the history of these competitions. More than 20 thousand athletes from 68 countries of the world took part in the competitions. There were teams from Moscow, St.-Petersburg, and also separately taken inspectors of traffic police and fire divisions from different regions of the country. It was pleasant to me to represent our country and the Penza region at competitions of such level".
He also told that the program of competitions changed due to the state of emergency because of hurricane "Ajrin", but the weather didn't affect the results of sportsmen.
Speaking about physical form of participants of the world games of policemen and firemen, Alexander Gruzinov said that sportsmen from the different countries showed worthy results in different sports.
The participant of games said: "For example, the representative of Romania with the result of 2.32 meters won in discipline "high jumps". The best result in the World championship was 2.35 meters".
At the same time, Alexander Gruzinov said that his contenders on a distance of 10 km became the representative of Mexico who won the first place and sportsman from India who got the second prize.
The sportsman said: "The brightest impression of the trip is the medal. I strove for victory, but I didn't expect such result".
Now Alexander Gruzinov prepares for participation in All-Russia competition on a rank of the best inspector of traffic police of Russia which starts in Orel on Sunday, September, 11th.
The world games of policemen and firemen are spent every two years. Representatives of Russia take part in competitions since 2003.
In 2011 the games were in honor of the tenth anniversary of act of terrorism in New York on September, 11th, 2001. Participants competed in 67 kinds of sport.
Alexey Vlasov the goalkeeper of football club "Souz" of Zarechny, the employee of the regional department of Federal Drug Control Service also represented the Penza region in Russian national team. His team won the third place.
